Now you can enjoy your cuppa even more by knowing that Dorset Tea has launched  Sunshine Blend, a sustainably packaged tea, in association with the Marine Conservation Society.

With a strong connection to the Dorset coastline, the brand has taken  measures to ensure its packaging is as environmentally friendly as it is possible to be. They teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society to highlight the importance of using sustainable packaging and keeping coastlines litter-free.

Marine Society
Phoebe Double, Brand Manager at Dorset Tea said, “At Dorset Tea we love the planet as much as we love a good cup of tea, so we have been working hard to make sure our products respect the environment. It has been challenging, but we are happy to announce that now all our products will be packaged in environmentally friendly packaging. Our special recyclable boxes are not wrapped in plastic and keep the teabags fresh without a foil bag and our biodegradable teabags can be popped into your food waste bin after usage. To celebrate the changes, we are partnering with the Marine Conservation Society to highlight the importance of keeping our marine environment free from litter.”

O
uter packaging is 100% recyclable and the bio-degadable teabags use plant-based, heat sealable paper that can be industrially composted.

Aware of damage caused by single use plastics and littering,  particularly seen locally in Dorset during lockdown, Dorset Tea and the Marine Conservation Society joined forces to raise awareness of the impact of  coastline littering.

Sanjay Mitra, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Marine Conservation Society comments: "The Marine Conservation Society is delighted to partner with Dorset Tea’s Sunshine Blend and see them remove single-use plastics from their products. Single-use plastics are hugely damaging for our beautiful marine environment and we applaud Dorset Tea’s efforts to minimise their impact. "

Part of the collaboration between Dorset Tea and the Marine Conservation Society includes joining with local schools to create projects that focus on the local coastal environment and the importance of protecting marine life from litter.

Besides all of that, Dorset Tea makes a really good cuppa, so it's a win win for everyone!

The Marine Conservation Society campaigns for clean seas and beaches, sustainable fisheries, and protection of marine life. Through education, community involvement and collaboration, MCS raises awareness of the many threats that face our seas and promotes individual, industry and government action to protect the marine environment. MCS provides information and guidance on many aspects of marine conservation and produces the Good Fish Guide as well as involving thousands of volunteers in projects and surveys such as MCS Beachwatch.
