Respilon's new eco-friendly face mask blocks 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and other dangerous particles, including COVID-19. RESPILON’s RespiPro VK Mask filters out over 99% of viruses, bacteria, air pollution, allergens and fine dust. It physically blocks Covid-19 particles thanks to its tiny 0.01 micrometer-wide filter pores and copper oxide technology.
GP Dr Nisa Aslam explains that these masks protect professional staff as well as the general public. ‘The entire mask is a single large protective RESPILON nanofibre two-way filter that’s light and incredibly breathable, plus they are re-usable which is essential as we live with COVID-19. RESPILON’s RespiPro VK Masks work well for those workers who wear a mask continually, as well as the general population who need to feel safe and protected when they leave home. Importantly, these masks are certified PPE as a filtering mask to help protect against Covid-19.’
Additionally, with disposable masks adding to the plastic pollution problem, the RespiPro VK Mask offers 30 hours of protection replacing on average 10 disposable masks. This reduces mask wastage and environmental impact by 90%.
How does the RespiPro VK Mask work?
The advanced RESPILON® nanofibre filtration technology is placed between two layers of
RESPILON’s Accelerated Copper Oxide (ACuO) virus-deactivating material. This patented ACuO technology offers stronger protection over other virus killing technology such as silver and zinc as copper possesses anti-viral properties. The RESPILON technology contains an accelerator to boost the efficacy of copper, making it even more effective against bacterial, fungal and viral activity.
Dr Aslam adds that many other toxic compounds are also physically blocked by the nanofibre filter.
There is a growing trend across Europe for certified protective masks to be worn instead of consumer fabric masks, Germany has made masks with a minimum of 94% filtration (FFP2) mandatory on public transport with other countries such as France looking to follow. RespiPro VK masks block 99% of virus particles.
The RESPILON nanofibre filters actually work best in humid conditions. This makes them perfect for professional use where a mask wearer needs protection over a long period of time.
Produced in Europe, the RespiPro VK masks are so highly praised that one thousand of them are being used at the Millennium Point COVID-19 Vaccination Centre in Birmingham. These protect marshals and other site staff involved in the Birmingham vaccination programme.
‘We needed a highly protective mask for staff on site at the vaccination centre’, says Linda Degg, Millennium Point Facilities Manager. I heard about the RespiPro VK Masks from our Health and Safety partners, the Compliance Standard Group, as an option that not only offers viral protection and excellent filtration, but is reusable.’
The RespiPro VK Mask comes in two adult sizes; medium and large. To ensure the perfect fit, a small plastic clip included in each pack allows the wearer to tighten the straps around the back of their head so the mask is sealed firmly to the face. RRP £16.50 per 2- pack.
A portion of RESPILON’s worldwide profits are donated to climate change causes and disability charities and the majority of their technology is 100% recyclable
The compulsory wearing of face masks or face coverings for everyone has helped provide at-risk groups with a much more visible level of protection against COVID-19. However, not all face masks provide the same levels of protection, either for the user or for those around them.
Unlined fabric face coverings don't offer any measurable filtration and as with standard disposable paper masks, are not fully enclosed. They continually slip and require readjustment, creating a contamination risk.
Disposable masks leave around 20% of inhaled air and around 30% of all exhaled air unfiltered and fabric and disposable masks can be difficult to manage properly.
If you are in, or mixing with a vulnerable group, how can you boost peace of mind regarding protection for both yourself and those around you? As COVID cases rise again, you require something disposable paper masks and standard fabric masks can't offer. A face mask that offers you comfort, safety and is environmentally friendly. That means it's time to breathe happy, the world's first consumer reusable face masks using replaceable TYPE IIR filters.
The COMMUTER model is classified as fluid resistant, non sterile medical device. It uses TYPE IIR filters tested and certified to the standard EN:14683:2019 for breathability, Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) and Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE). BFE is the measurement of the amount of bacteria of a predetermined size that can pass through the filter and PFE is the measurement of tiny particles that the filters prevent when breathing in. That is the important one!
Lightweight, comfortable breathe happy masks are made from superior, food-grade silicone and polycarbonate, both 100% post-consumer recyclable and are sculpted to fit your face.
A breathe happy mask has fully adjustable straps that ensure it stays in place and moulds to the contours of your face, so once fitted, there is no need to continually worry or fret about readjustment. Spectacle wearers will also appreciate that with a breathe happy mask the seal around your face prevents glasses from fogging up!
Confidence, comfort and cost saving - the breathe happy COMMUTER replaceable filters are just £1.00 each using the subscription service. Each filter lasts for seven days, costing considerably less than daily disposable paper masks.
breathe happy masks are reusable, designed to last several years and are environmentally friendly – delivering 59 times less waste and environmental impact than the use of daily disposable paper masks. The mask is also recyclable.
breathe happy COMMUTER reusable face masks retail at £24.99 and typically will pay for themselves in as little as three weeks when compared with the cost of disposable paper masks.
They are supplied assembled in a box that includes one mask plus instructions on use, five filters (five weeks supply), filter subscription details and a mesh boiling bag for sterilising the mask.
breathe happy masks are a non-sterile medical device for non-surgical environments and are not classed as PPE.. Visit breathe happy to find out more.
