the country village summer fete
Emma Patrick is just about to hit the Big - 50 when realisation dawns that as a workaholic, she has lost any real connection to other people. However, things are about to change and when her elderly dad gets unwell, she decides to go back to her home village of Little Bramble to spend time with him. These things are never straightforward though and going back somewhere you left years ago has its own problems. Not to mention some people that she would much rather avoid.
To her surprise as she settles down she realises that she actually likes her life in the village and when the opportunity to get involved in organising the summer fête comes along, she jumps straight in. That's not all though, a romance is brewing, making Emma consider whether her previous city life was actually as great as she thought after all.
Greg, Emma's dad improves hugely after Emma comes back and all the time Emma learns to adjust to a slower pace of life, even taking up jam making like her mum used to do.
Of course, there is Connor too and it's not straightforward for him either, dealing with a nightmarish ex.
This is a gently enjoyable read but I'm not giving the game away to let you know if Emma Connor get it together .... oh and the dogs. I love the dogs too.

The publishers sent me a digital copy of the book for review purposes.
